Saving water doesn't have to sound like homework, and a Texas water district is proving it with a cast of animated characters. The Upper Trinity Regional Water District has launched the "Trinity Trio" campaign, featuring a water droplet, a sprinkler and a lawn to teach North Texas residents smarter irrigation habits and reduce waste, while also offering free sprinkler system inspections. With outdoor watering accounting for more than half of household water use, officials hope a little humor will help people change long-standing habits. Sometimes the best way to save millions of gallons of water starts with a cartoon and a reminder that more isn't always better.
